Dear reader, 

It's been a hot minute since we connected! 

 

I intend to use this newsletter, reimagined as The Daybook, for a periodic curation of inspiration, industry-related daydreams, recent design work, branding insights, and more thought-provoking bits for your musing pleasure. I'm giddy with inspiration to start this newsletter up again!

Your Instagram feed is not your brand… but it surely impacts it (if you have a complex with Instagram, this is for you)

 

This may not sound profound, but it’s a point worth emphasizing: Instagram is just another marketing tool. 

 

This means that:

1. It doesn’t need to be your brand’s entire focus

&

2. you still need to view it as a serious brand touchpoint (that can make or break your audience’s trust)

Whatever channel of marketing you’re using, it’s so important to understand that your actual brand goes way deeper than that channel

 

With my holistic approach this becomes effortless, let me give you some more context

 

Having a strategic foundation that sets up boundaries for every piece of content means you already know what to talk about because you already know what your goals are and who you’re trying to serve

 

Branding → defines

Marketing → communicates

The magic moment happens when these two intersect

 

So, back to the Instagram feed. I wanted to focus on this because we tend to obsess over it. I’m having conversations with people who are either posting randomly or obsessing over every tiny detail (neither of which are giving any results). I’m not claiming to be Instagram guru, or even a marketing guru — but I dare say that I will forever hold to the principle of having solid brand strategy and it’s capacity to help you in any area of your business

 

When approaching your marketing with this a foundational, holistic perspective, a curated Instagram feed can actually:

  • Enhance your brand presence

  • Create a solid first impression to your dream audience

  • Cultivate your brand narrative

  • Set you apart from your competitors

The overarching goal is to give your audience a surround sound brand experience across every single client touchpoint so that they immediately recognize your vibe and never forget it

 

INSPIRATION

I’m loving:

  • Lighting candles for a cozy vibe, night or day

  • This playlist

  • Cozy sweaters - this sounds so “duh,” but I feel like I’ve just personally rediscovered the art of wearing a classic sweater. The impact of a simple crewneck with jeans! Or a maxi skirt and boots! Over a dress (or nightgown for a WFH vibe)! So profound! If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been knitting my first sweater - well, I finished it over my holiday break and I’ve been wearing it nonstop!

CREATIVE ENERGY

Winter has made me feel a little dull, and although I did do a little new years reset, I'm giving myself space to evolve because this is the time to hibernate! As a recovering productivity-addict, I am amazed to see the growth that comes from just letting go.

I intend for these little journal entries to leave you inspired, motivated, and encouraged to hone in on your craft, start your new project, evolve, grow, take the next step toward the thing you're always daydreaming about. Now go forth, and live creatively!
