DAYBOOK ENTRY 03 [5 min read]

What does a successful brand look like to you?

To me, a successful brand looks like a brand world where every touch point is purposeful and considered. And I'm not calling for perfection either, rather a strong gauge of relevancy + awareness of where you're at, what's going on around you, and where you want to be.

Let’s break it down a little more.

My fine art background has taught me that for a piece to work, everything has to be considered.

From the handling of materials to the way it's presented, everything must be considered and nothing should look like an accident.

“Are there any outlets near your piece hanging on the wall?”

“What about the lighting?”

“Are there other pieces around it?”

“What are the other pieces communicating - and how does it relate to your piece?”

Here’s how this concept applies to you if you want a compelling and successful brand:

You have to have a deep understanding of where you’re at, what is relevant, what is around you, what you’re trying to do, and what you’re actually doing.

Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or in the initial stages of brand building – I want to help your brand evolve and I want you to feel good about it. Seriously, just send me a voice message on IG and brain dump all of your ideas and daydreams. I’m happy to share advice and brainstorm with you!

INSPIRATION

I’m loving:

  • Finally getting my pottery studio up and running, and it’s in my back porch; potted plants on one side, wheel setup on the other <3

  • The Creative Act, by Rick Rubin

  • Spring! Thank goodness for the sun finally warming up my side of the planet again!!

  • Cooking with fresh fruits and veg again! I recently was gifted Molly Baz’ new cookbook and I’ve been loving experimenting in the kitchen.

CREATIVE ENERGY

Brand work is not always as glamorous as a fresh new logo suite or a photoshoot — sometimes it looks like endlessly scribbling in notepads, being brutally honest with ourselves, trying to figure out who you are, what you want, and why… I invite you to take the time this week to just be patient and purposeful with your decisions. And if you can keep doing that, take action from your findings where you’re able to sustainably grow and evolve, that’s what a successful brand looks like to me.
